My Question or Issue
For the past thing 2 months i haven’t been able to see song numbers.
Hey @Michael34140,
Thanks for reaching out.
Have you already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app? This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
If that doesn't do the trick, could you let us know if the same thing happens in the web player? Also, send us the exact Spotify version you're running.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
I did a clean reinstall and it's still the same. I check the web player and it's the exactc same as the desktop app This is my version btw,
Hey @Michael34140,
Thanks for the reply and cooperation!
Does this happen across all playlists or just specific ones? Do you by any chance have any podcast episodes saved in a playlist where you're not seeing the songs numbered? If that's the case, try removing them, so that you only have songs left. It'd also be great if you can try logging out and back in and then creating a new music playlist to see if the issue persists.
Let us know how it goes.
I’ve tried all these solutions but nothing seems to work. This problem happens not just in my playlists but all albums on spotify.
Hey @Michael34140,
When you have a playlist that contains at least one podcast episode, the number of tracks will be changed to an icon to indicate if it is a song, or a podcast episode. I assume that something related to this feature may be broken on your end, causing both the numbering and the icons to disappear. However, seeing that this occurs with albums as well makes me think it might be bigger than that.
Let's try removing the Spotify entries from the hosts file to see if that would make a difference. If it doesn't, see if logging in with someone's else's account would display the same fault. You can use a new free account for testing purposes as well.
Hope this helps! Keep us posted 🙂
P.S. You can also try switching to compact mode to verify if the issue would be present with it as well. Thanks!
Spotify didn’t have a line in my computers host file and logging into another account still gave the same problem
Thanks for the assistance @Michael34140!
Have you changed your system font recently? If so, try resetting it back to the default one (which is Segoe UI) to see if that does the trick. If you've changed your graphics card's / visual settings, I'd recommend resetting those as well. You can also try updating your graphics drivers.
Something else that's worth checking is if the same behavior occurs in Safe Mode with Networking.
Let us know how it goes 👍
I've tried all of that and it still hasn't worked. I also find it weird how song numbers dont appear on the web player as well,
Hey @Michael34140,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info sent.
If the numbers are not appearing on the web player either, it could be a device-related issue. So to make sure of this, we know you've already reinstalled the app before, but to make sure we covered all the basics, if you installed the app from the Spotify page, would you mind installing the one available on the Microsoft Store or vice versa to see if it makes any difference?
Also, and if possible, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if the numbers are displayed? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
We'll be waiting for your response.
