Spotify keeps playing an artist I have blocked in playlists

My Question or Issue

I am an avid listener of the Spotify 'morning show' podcast The Get Up. However, for the last 6 or so weeks, after the first track, the headlines, one or both of the next tracks is a song by artist Olivia Rodrigo. I have never listened to her, and I don't want to. For about a month I started just skipping the tracks. But she was there EVERY. DAY. I decided to finally just go to the artist page and hit "do not play this artist" yesterday. I installed the Spotify update on my MacBook this morning, opened Spotify, started the playlist, and she's still there. (See photo). How do I get this out of my playlist once and for all?

The feature doesn't work. The songs are visible and playable.

The answer marked as solution doesn't help.

Hey folks,

Note that if the blocked artist is featured in a song, this would bypass the "Don't play this artist" features, as it only affects songs where they are the main artist.

If the issue occurs with such tracks as well, try unblocking > blocking the artist again - that should trigger a resync.

In case the behavior comes back after restarting the app, please share the following so we can investigate further:

• the device you're listening on (an external smart speaker, or directly on your phone, for example, etc.)
• the exact version of Spotify you're running
• a short screen recording which captures the app's behavior in action

⚠️ Note: "Don't play this artist" and "Hide song" are two separate features: the former blocks all songs of an artist (where they are listed as the main artist), while the latter tells the app to skip specific songs in certain playlists/albums. Think of "Don't play this artist" as a global solution, and of "Hide song" as more of a local one. Screenshots below:

Why are you charging people money for this app if you cant even figure out something as basic as a blocking feature? You're acting like that's just how it works and you can't do anything about it when you can literally fix it you are the developer, do your job.

Honestly if I was the CEO and i heard you guys couldn't get something as simple as blocking songs and artists working I would fire you.
