Spotify knows that the listening experience is a way to connect artists with fans on many levels. But what if we could enhance these connections with a different perspective?
With this in mind, Spotify is introducing a new and powerful way to listen to your favorite songs: Music Videos.
This exciting new feature is being rolled out in Beta for Premium users across more than 90 countries worldwide. At this point, Music Videos is with a limited catalog, but it includes hits from local artists and global ones like Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, and Ariana Grande.
How to watch music videos on Spotify:
Considering it's in Beta, Spotify will continue to improve the new feature based on feedback both from users and artists.
Currently, Spotify is working on ways to improve the experience of switching the playback from music to video and vice-versa, adopting a TimeSync transaction and this update is being released to the users gradually. There is also a 18+ content enforcement to prevent minors have access to explicit content.
I hope you are as excited as I am for this new way to enhance your connection with your favorite artists. For any feedback on the matter you may have, you are more than welcome to share it with us below on this thread.
You can find the latest updates on the topic in the official announcement from the Spotify Newsroom here.

Hey everyone,
We hear your concerns as parents and we're actively working on a new experience which grants the plan manager additional control over the available content (such as videos and podcasts), making it more suitable for young listeners who have outgrown the use of a Kids account, but are still too young for a standalone Spotify account.
There's more info on the topic in this article, check it out if you're interested.
While the feature is currently only available in certain regions, your feedback is important and greatly appreciated, as it may ultimately end up paving the way for our broader user experience.
The Community is here if there's anything else you need assistance with in the meantime.
this 100% needs rolling out to all premium users in all regions so parents can block videos and have more control.
Sorry, again that old story.
The "new" feature is from September 2024. How long does it last to allow it for all countries ?
How long did it take to roll out that podcast/video mess to all countries ? It was simply there without going from Sweden, 6 month later to Brazil and another 6 month later to Italy - and still not here.
Anyway I have not signed the new prices so my account is to be quit by Spotify in 3 weeks.
It was a great time for many years, but the last year made clear Spotify serves another idea then the needs of a family.
How van i turn this functionality off? Listening via a denon receive and when i choose a song with video it will als me to continue on my phone, and will stop playing via my denon.
Spotify should add music videos to their app and it should allow users the option to view the music videos from various devices from the TV, tablet, to phone. In a similar manner to other music or video streaming platforms.
How can I get only audio content? I don't like videos
How do I make it stop?!
Hi
For me Spotify is primary a listening experience. But I enjoy some of the videos. So I made a playlist of songs with videos. But on my iPhone or iPad the video shuts down between songs and goes back to listening mode. It works on my computer but not on the other devices? Does anybody know why?
I with Spotify had music videos. Not like the short snippets we see, but full music videos. I love watching music videos on platforms like Apple Music or YouTube and it would be so cool if you could watch them on Spotify.
Today I was unpleasantly surprised to see the word "video" next to artists' names in my playlists. AND I HATE IT! It's visual clutter and really disrupts the experience. I really hope they either remove the "video" tag soon or at least give us the option to turn it off so we just see song/artist.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES BUT NOT JUST PARENTS!!!!! PLEASE ALLOW ALL ADULT PREMIUM USERS TO DISABLE THE VIDEO FEATURE AND REMOVE THE "VIDEO" TAG FROM THE TRACK LISTING!!!!!! Literally just want it back to the way it was before this video thing was rolled out.
I see the video icon on my playlists but I dont see the switch to video button on the now playing screen so I cant switch to music video😞
The music videi was playing smoothly, and then suddenly it reverted back to audio after the last song
Just to be clear, I will be able to turn off all videos, and all podcasts for the users in my family. Or just those under 13?
Also, when is the estimated time this goes live in the United States?
Please let me disable this feature. I HATE seeing "Music Video" next to the artist name in half my songs. It's just distracting visual clutter and I have no interest in watching music videos.
Misschien 🥴
There does'nt seem to be a way to disable videos on the pc app, or default to audio first. I like the feature, but I also really like the lossless audio you just added and I don't like that I have to click "switch to audio" every song to get the good sound. If i'm missing the option could you point me to it?
Eff this**bleep**. I wanted to listen to some Tool and some of the videos play by default and lose explicit lyrics. I dont want music videos. If i did, id watch youtube. I want to listen to music. that's it. please introduce a switch to disable videos across the platform by default. i hate this.
This is ridiculous that music videos have been added. Why isn't there an option to turn it off?! A Rammstein song I enjoy listening to is now 9 minutes long because you've added the music video, and it wasn't that long before that feature. Some of the songs are generally longer now, and it's awful.
Some setting I'd love to have implemented:
I often listen to my varied playlists on my computer or TV. I've loved having the artwork on display while I'm listening. I think its really fun to have the video's pop up (when they're available.) However unless its playing a song that has a video and you happen to click on it in the moment you might miss the video. I'd love a display settings option to play the video when it's available. I'm really enjoying the ambiance it creates.
Thanks!
