Watch and Listen: Introducing music videos on Spotify

Spotify knows that the listening experience is a way to connect artists with fans on many levels. But what if we could enhance these connections with a different perspective? 

With this in mind, Spotify is introducing a new and powerful way to listen to your favorite songs: Music Videos.

This exciting new feature is being rolled out in Beta for Premium users across more than 90 countries worldwide. At this point, Music Videos is with a limited catalog, but it includes hits from local artists and global ones like Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, and Ariana Grande.

How to watch music videos on Spotify:

• Music Videos is being rolled out in Beta for Premium users in some specific countries. This includes Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Philippines, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Egypt and the United Kingdom.
• Music Videos is available for Premium users on iOS, Android, desktop, and TV devices. 
• You can access it through the Now Playing View, when listening to supported music tracks. You just need to tap the “Switch to Video” toggle and the music video will start playing from the beginning. To head back to audio-only mode, tap on “Switch to Audio”.
• You can watch the videos in either portrait or landscape modes, and it is also available for Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode.

Considering it's in Beta, Spotify will continue to improve the new feature based on feedback both from users and artists.

Currently, Spotify is working on ways to improve the experience of switching the playback from music to video and vice-versa, adopting a TimeSync transaction and this update is being released to the users gradually. There is also a 18+ content enforcement to prevent minors have access to explicit content.

I just read in the news recently that Music Videos will be coming to the USA on Spotify Platform. 

I think YouTube is best for video app. Spotify [external link removed by Mod] is just an amazing music listening app.

Music videos on Spotify are amazing, and I love this feature! As feedback, I'd like to propose some suggestions and improvements that could make the video experience even better:

Add an option to save music videos to the Videos Library, similar to Tidal. Currently, when I try to save only the video, the song gets saved instead.

Enable 4K resolution support for videos released in 4K. At the moment, the highest resolution for videos on Spotify is 1080p; however, this video was released in 4K: open.spotify.com/album/5dy9p3aFC4y5MZb8YUL0Xg

Add to catalog albums with bonus videos, like on Apple Music. Examples include Dangerous Woman (Bonus Videos Edition) and The Fame Monster Video EP. Some labels release album versions that include bonus videos, and it would be great to have these releases available on Spotify as well.

I do not mind if you add videos, but having a family account the video podcasts are a game changer in the negative way.
Please give us the option to deactivate videos and video podcasts for kids.
So far we had a well working agreement about using the mobile phone separating music/audio books from the "internet" time (aka videos and games).
With the video podcasts this is history. So either you give us a tool to stop the kids watching videos in Spotify - or we must put a hard time limit on Spotify.

Not sure if other asked this question already, but will it be possible in the future to disable Videos at all? Of not, can you please think about think about this Option? As many others, we are using a family account and we only want to allow music for the Kids I dont want any Video playback possibility. Thanks
