[Web Player] Bug: 2 Phantom Entries at Bottom of My Library Sidebar

Solved!

[Web Player] Bug: 2 Phantom Entries at Bottom of My Library Sidebar

Plan: Free

Device: Apple MacBook Air (M1, 2020) (MacBookAir10,1)

Operating System: macOS Monterey 12.6.7

Browser: Google Chrome Version 115.0.5790.102 (Official Build) (arm64)

As in the screenshot, two entries of unknown type appear in my My Library screen (whenever I filter by playlists only regardless of ordering (but not when I add additional filters like 'by spotify')) with no cover art, title, name, author, anything. They don't respond to clicks or secondary clicks (no context menu appears and the central panel gets stuck loading something the nonexistent items). Their placement is affected by order (recents, custom, etc) but the two usually appear together and always as a pair (2, no more no less).

The console logs a lot of HTTP 400 responses after clicking them.

A couple interesting URLs are listed:

web-player.6bfda776.js:1:1368469

web-player.6bfda776.js:1:1367991

It seems to try to request these URLs ("failed to fetch playlist via GraphQL!") when I click the phantom duo.

I'd say it's a low priority/urgency issue as the issue appears only cosmetic, but may reveal some other issues.

Hey @AzureArmageddon,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Could you try performing a clean reinstall of the app as described here? Let's see if this brings any change.

The most probable reason for this behavior is the playlists being removed. If the phantom entries are still visible after a few days, you can contact our customer support team to have them removed. Here is how.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hi there @AzureArmageddon,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

It appears that your screenshots have not uploaded properly, you can try attaching them to your next post again, or sending us a link to a image sharing service.

Such empty playlists can sometimes appear in your library, if you've been following a certain playlist and that has been removed from the platform for some reason. They should get removed automatically from all of the followers libraries, but there are cases in which this doesn't happen.

Can you let us know if you can see those empty entries on all your devices or only on your Macbook?

Keep us posted.

Compact and default library views shown.

Mouse hover highlights the playlists.

I think I replicated this on the Win10 desktop app recently but don't really remember.
