Your Daily Drive: same music again and again

Hello team, Daily Drive landed in France couple of weeks ago and I LOVE the idea.

The podcast are great and I love how they are mixed with music.

But for any reason, it feels like the music that got selected on the daily mix is always the same-ish. Always the same artistes, and sometimes the same titles in a different order.

Are you guys encountering the same behavior?

I've just started using Daily Drive and after 2 days of the exact same songs, it's clear the bug still exists. Very disappointing.

Argentina user here. Been using daily drive since launch. SAME SONGS REPEAT ALL THE TIME with minor changes. I can't tell you how many times you've tried to make me listen to katy perry bon appetit. Songs on the back of the list seem to update more consistently. Weekly podcasts update ok. Weekend podcasts seem to be stuck also. Please fix.

mine plays thunderstorms because I listen to a storm playlist when I have migraines, and have specified to exclude them from my taste profiile -- yet despite refreshing, clearing cache, uninstalling and re-installing, etc, I have had ambient storms in my daily drive for over a year! Ughhhhh I wish it would work -- I used to love that playlist option.

yes! being able to remove content from that playlist would be ideal. Honestly I'm surprised we can't curate the list so it has favorite podcasts that update, news, and a selection of songs from playlists, mixes, and lists. i wish I could customize the rules, too.

I wish this worked for me but my Daily Drive is still ambient rain sounds and dad rock for at least a year.

I do this as well. I really enjoy the newscasts because THEY ARE NEW EVERYDAY.

Pls fix this issue. Love listening to daily drive for the morning news and podcast shorts. Same songs. Over and over. Ruining some of my favorite albums for me 😕

daily drive keeps playing the same songs over and over and over and it is beyond annoying--please help me

Hey all,
4 years ago, I created a small free client-side web app which tries to tackle the the problem by generating a new playlist based on your favorite songs and the podcasts in your real autogenerated Daily Drive playlist.

It has 30 monthly users, so seems to be useful for some people.

Feel free to give it a try, I don't think that issue will be fixed by Spotify soon.

It looks awesome, but unfortunately does not work... it generates an empty playlist 😕
Is there a hidden error message that might help?

Hm... you could take a look in the Developer Console (F12) to look for any console errors.
All requests to Spotify are done client side, so there is no way for me to find out what's wrong.

Did you try it a second time?
Do you have saved tracks (Favorite Songs or however it's called)?

If you say it created the playlist, then - looking at the code - it failed somewhere in or after line 121.

A small screen recording while seeing the console output and the network tab would help.
Feel free to drop me a message using the contact form on f-bit.software or something, maybe we can figure it out without spamming all these people subscribed to that thread.

Chiming in from August 2024 to update that Spotify has done nothing about this 3+ year old problem. I loved my Daily Drive at first once I started using it, but now it's the same songs day after day after day. There are also podcasts that I have no interest in, but I have no way to downvote to exclude them.

This issue is still continuing in 2025. I've tried logging out and back in, I've tried clearing my cache, and the handful of Daily Drive songs on my profile have been the same for at least TWO MONTHS. Daily skipping of these songs has made me hate them. Is there not a way to add a "Refresh the songs in this list" capability without ruining the other functions that slot in news/podcast segments? I'm afraid I'll need to abandon Daily Drive altogether.
