when I turn on the radio on the playlist, then I have about the same mix, although I listen to quite a variety of music

Just to double-check- do you get songs mostly in one language or there is a variety?

Could you share with us the URI of the playlist that you use to create Radio playlist from? We'll look into this further.

Thanks for getting back to us.

The algorithm uses different factors, for example the region, in order to create a radio. It also looks at what others in that region listen to for the recommendations.

On big, very diverse playlists it can happen that the generated radio doesn't cover all the variety included in the original playlist.

We're continuously tweaking and improving our algorithms and suggestions, so this could improve in the future, but this is currently a technical limitation.
