"I don't like this artist" mechanics in Discovery Weekly

When I select "I don't like this artist" for an artist in the Discovery Weekly does it affect the possibility of other similar artists' appearing in Discovery Weekly in the future or does it affect only that particular artist?

I normally browse through all the songs of a new artist suggested in Discovery Weekly and add all the songs I like in a new playlist after which I go back to the Discovery Weekly and select "I don't like this artist" even though I like that artist in order to receive more new artist suggestions each week. However I don't want this to affect the suggestion of similar artist. Am I doing the right thing? What is the mechanics behind this? Thanks in advance..
