"Song already in playlist" not appear

"Song already in playlist" not appear

I have a playlist with more than 300 songs. Starting from song #101, when trying to add repeated songs, the message "song already in playlist" no longer appears.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. Please follow the steps from this Spotify Guide exactly, as this will assure that all app data is cleared completely, before reinstalling.

Also, make sure that Battery optimization is not enabled for Spotify from the system app settings, as well as that the app is granted all permissions. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app.

If the issue keeps happening after that, let us know if you're not getting the message on any of your playlists or just this one.

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

Cheers.

Hi Alex, the problem did not occur to me first in the application, but on the web. After this I tried to see if the same thing happened on the desktop and mobile applications and the same problem occurred. It should be noted that this message appears when I try to add a repeat song that is already in the top 100 songs, but the message does not pop up from then on.

Hi there @Prado910,

Thanks for the clarification.

Since this is happening on multiple platforms it might be an account related issue. If possible, can you try logging in with a different account to test this out?

It's also a good idea to test this with a few different playlists. If this is happening only on one playlist (the top 100) it's worth moving your songs to another playlist, since there might be something gone wrong with the playlist itself.

Keep us in the loop.

Hey,

I like the new desktop update but experienced an issue today. I was moving a song I already liked to a playlist when I noticed the left playlist column highlights the entire area green first, until you hover over a select playlist. I dropped the song before getting to my playlist to see what'd happen. This added it to my Liked Songs, even though the song is already there, and changed its Date Added to today’s date.

Metadata like this means a lot to me. Now when sorting by Date Added my Liked songs are out of order, for I first saved this song earlier this year. I’d appreciate if Spotify had dialog pop-ups to show the song is already Liked or to just not re-add the song at all. Thanks!
