songs on repeat/rewind playing songs i have NEVER listened to

last year when i used the summer rewind feature, it had a couple of songs that i blasted all summer, but a bunch more that i've never heard in my life. i thought it might be that the algorithm was populating my playlist because i didn't really use spotify until the year was almost over. this year, i've been using spotify even more than apple music, but my summer rewind, on repeat, and repeat rewind are doing the same thing. in fact, the repeat/repeat rewind are almost exclusively songs that i'm hearing for the first time and would never listen to otherwise. does anyone have any idea what's going on, and if i can reverse it? because these features are actually pretty cool and i'd like to actually use them
