Superuser Contribution Spotify desktop only uses the 2 front speakers on a 5.1 setup

I have 5.1 audio with my windows but Spotify only uses the 2 front speakers, how do I get it to use ALL of the speakers? Speaker fill makes NO DIFFERENCE!
