Well, I found the Glitter album by Pasteboard. Really crazy they have it, but anyways, if you like Japanese Shoegaze or something that sounds similar to the band SUPERCAR check them out:

I understand that this is an old thread. But i'd like to highlight this weird fact of missing japanese music.

There is such a treasure throve of great japanese music. Which youtube for some reason, can capitalize on.

Some unknown(western perspective) rock band like scandal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EDvabyo620

There are 4 million views. Wtf? There are many succesfull western musicians, that won't come near this number of views.

That seems, at least to me, like an incredible untapped resource. I am not a business analist however.

But it seems that this is the exact problem, only easier to proof, spotify faced when selling this concept in the first place.

So get us some more asian pop/rock please!

Anyone else find it odd that there is only one song from fripSide on spotify ;w;

Man, if you like fripSide you'll be glad to hear that artists like EastNewSound, IOSYS, Mosaic.wav and some more are hitting Spotify HARD. I'm talking three-six albums, singles and stuff like that! I'm overjoyed!!!

Of course I'd love more fripSide, but for now Spotify has been making me VERY happy!

Like all of you I REALLY love me some Jpop and Jrock, and Spotify has been delivering on both fronts. Some artists that I've recently found have more than just two or three songs available:

  • KOTOKO
  • L'Arc en Ciel
  • EastNewSound
  • IOSYS
  • Mosaic.wav
  • Vocaloid artists (Whiteflame, TakeponG, and even the Live album from the Indonesia Concert)
  • Endoh Masaaki (mostly songs from Overdrive visual novels, Green Green, Dengeki Stryker, etc.)
  • eufonius
  • And some more!!!

It's amazing! There was nothing, and all of a sudden, it's been coming up like crazy!!! I love Spotify!!! Please give us MORE!!!

Also they have KAMIJO not his symphony of the vampire but they have his newest one

You guys, artists keep popping up like crazy!!!

Some of my most recent findings include:

KEYTALK

Cool Joke

BRADIO

Shishamo

Gesu no Kiwami Otome

And if you keep going around the similar artists from those, you'll get even more! Let's keep exploring and hoping Spotify adds more and more!

Obne of my favorite bands, Boris, is from Japan and their entire discography was on Spotify but now the Akuma No Uta album is gone. Why?!?!?! 😞

On Antinote records and from Okayama, Inoue Shirabe makes sweet analog techno.

Somewhat disparate collection, but found a lot of good music! Thanks.

I totally agree with you! 75% of my music is Japanese

Try this playlist to enjoy amazing J-Pop tracks:

Looks like most of the tracks that appear to spotify come from compilation albums and are not albums of the artist as such. Would like to see full albums from artists like Kobukuro, Keisuke Kuwata, ELT, Seiko Matsuda, Momoe etc

Learning to enjoy Japanese music..

very cool collection, Thanks 🙂

Maybe Spotify was unable to license some record labels in Japan and/or there's a country restrictions where J-Pop tracks are available in one country and the other is not.

There is no ONE OK ROCK and Alice Nine. I'm dying...

BUT! I found my favourite song from LM.C 🙂

All the albums from Perfume are available on Spotify. I love them.

I feel exactly the same, I love listening to scandal, silent siren, stereopon, flow and many more Japanese bands but Spotify doesn't have them and in the end that's why I cancelled my subscription.

If Spotify is reading this I hope that understand that there's more music then just English and American and if they want to make Spotify the best way of listening to music they should include all the music around the world.
