30 minutes of ad free listening isn’t working

I have an account on my IPhone X. The software is up to date (IOS 12.1.4). I’m not sure if this happens on all iPhones. 

 When I start to Spotify I get the 30 minutes of free listening prompted. I usually get a 30 second ad. Normally on Spotify if I ignore the 30 min free prompt I get 3 ads every 3 Songs, but I realized that if I allow the ad to play I get 3 ads every 3 songs. Is there any way to fix this?

It worked in the beginning but the free listening isn’t working anymore. I am using Spotify version 8.4.98.741 and the operating system is 12.1.4
