We can confirm that it's expected behavior that the volume can't be controlled from a mobile device when the playback is coming from another mobile device. However, as you mentioned, it is possible to control the volume of the desktop app from a phone via Connect.
For this reason, we recommend checking our Ideas board to see if there are any related ideas or you can also submit your own. Others can then vote for it or add to the conversation to show their support. You can find the steps to submit a new one in this article.

Thank you for your reply, but I still can't understand: WHY Spotify enable and then disable this volume control ?
Volume control mobile to mobile it's not a new function or something that we have to "vote". This feature is implemented in Spotify so why it's occasionally enabled and then sudden disabled, could you please answer us

For those who use a mobile device as their Spotify player connecter to speakers or amp this is very inconvenient. Why not have it as an option instead of getting rid of it.
