Album view doesn't filter out unsaved songs

Album view doesn't filter out unsaved songs

For a few weeks now, on Spotify for iOS, my library's album view doesn't filter out unsaved songs from an album.  This makes me have to scroll through a ton of songs I don't want from an album.  It will also play the full album, not just the songs from that album which I've saved.

At first I thought I messed something up but it behaves correctly on the desktop version.

This change in behavior is beyond tedious and makes using the mobile app much harder than it needs to be.  Please fix this.

Expected Behavior

If I save only 3 songs from an album with 10 tracks:

  • Only 3 should appear when I view the album in my Library
  • Only 3 should play when I play the album in my Library
  • For every track I unsave, they should disappear from the album view
  • For every additional track I save, they should appear in the album view
  • There should be a button that can jump to the full album view

Actual Behavior

If I save only 3 songs from an album with 10 tracks:

  • All 10 songs appear when I view the album in my Library
  • All 10 songs play when I play the album in my Library
  • For every track I unsave, they continue to appear in the album view

You guys are never going to fix this are you?  As a paying customer, don't I at least deserve some response to my inquiry?

I just found this thread that appears to be the same issue:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Whole-album-is-being-saved-instead-of-just-the-song...

I'll continue complaining there since this thread apparently isn't worthy of acknowledgement.

I suspect it's because they'd prefer we were listening to playlists, not albums........

Not an excuse, just adding my voice to the complaint.

Yep, it’s just as bad as you say.  They call this the “new user experience.”  It’s horrible and this forum is full of posts with people saying, “surely this is not what you’re planning on keeping.”

I’m in a 30 day trial with TIDAL and Amazon Music Unlimited, and a 90 day trial with Apple Music.  I hate that they’re making me and my family plan move.
