App on the phone annoyingly turns on, works in the background while playing music on iMac/ iPad/ TV

Premium/ Lithuania/ iPhone 11/iOS

In the past two weeks it got really annoying - app on the phone is constantly turning on without any consent to work in the background while playing music on PC, iPad or TV. After you turn the app off manually on the phone it stays shut for a while, later on it turns on again upon itself.

I've tried to update, reinstall, turn off/on the phone - nothing works.

Hey @sandrozauras,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Sorry to hear that you're having such an experience with the app.

We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. Please follow the steps from this Spotify Guide exactly, as this will assure that all app data is cleared completely, before reinstalling.

You can go in your phone's settings and switch off Background app refresh, check if that helps.

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

Cheers.

I’ve tried your solution, but it still keeps connecting on it’s own. So, that absolutely didn’t help.

Hey there @sandrozauras,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop here.

We've seen other reports that since iOS 15, the app seems to be launched every time when the OS detects that Spotify is used on the same network. This seems to affect volume settings as well, as mentioned in this thread. We'd like you to know that we've passed those reports and that the internal teams are currently looking into it, but we don't have any additional info for now and we can't place a timeframe for when a resolution is to be expected.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
