I do not stay logged in on the Apple TV app. Almost every time I use the app (it may stay logged in for a few hours), it asks me to log in and gives me a pairing code.

My Question or Issue

The Apple TV constantly requires a login each time I launch it. This never used to be the case but something has changed over the past several months. I've deleted the app and reinstalled it several times now. Other media apps like Netflix, Hulu, Apple Music, etc. remain logged in for some significant period of time. This needs a fix or adjustment to the credential TTL because this is unacceptable as is. Considering canceling my subscription and moving to another service because I use my Apple TV all the time to listen to music and I'm not paying just to have to login repeatedly.

For starters, we recommend checking both the OS and Spotify app on your device are updated. Additionally, make sure your storage has enough space. Apple doesn't provide this info on AppleTV settings, so you can use this free application to understand how much storage you have left. 

 

On another note, you can also try restarting your AppleTV and checking if anything changed.

 

If you're still experiencing the same issue, let us know your device model and its OS version.

Posting because this it’s happened at least twice since I last commented. 

it’s definitely happening a lot less. 

Same exact issue, makes the app unuseable, and as my primary speakers in home, I'm tempted to switch streaming services to avoid this. Any options Spotify? I'm not going to factory reset my AppleTV, setting it up again would be way too much work. I don't understand why after pairing once, I can't use Spotify on this device indefinitely. 

I finally found a great solution that solved the problem immediately and permanently. I switched to Apple Music.
