My Question or Issue
I do not stay logged in on the Apple TV app. Almost every time I use the app (it may stay logged in for a few hours), it asks me to log in and gives me a pairing code.

Thanks for the patience with this.
The issue seems to be stemming from low space on the AppleTV that causes Apple to purge the data. Our tech folks are working on a possible fix for this.
For now, please make sure your storage has enough space.
Apple doesn't provide this info on AppleTV settings, so you can use this free application to understand how much storage you have left.

Following also same issue. Great thread. Thanks everyone. I was very angry and frustrated at the app when I started reading the thread, and after the rollercoaster, for to page 4, and now I’m good. Calm. Have come to terms with it. Apple TV is only about 5% of my Spotify use so I’m ok with it. Best day of my life….
Same issue here and have had it for quite some time. The level of frustration just keeps rising every time I get kicked out…

Same here. Please fix this. Would love to play stuff in my living room from the Apple TV, but no luck as every time I have to login which is an arduous process on the Apple TV.
This issue started happening for me when I got a 2nd apple tv for my house and turned on the feature to mirror my apple tv home screen from the previous device. I logged into spotify on the new apple tv after it appeared, and then my old one got logged out. I logged it back in with the pairing feature and then a week or so later it's logged out again and needs to be logged in again.
Another interesting problem is that whereas spotify on my old apple tv used to show up in spotify connect with the custom name of my apple tv, now it just shows up as "Apple TV" even though my device has a custom name. Not sure what's up with that.
The old Apple TV is a I think 2nd gen 4k (Model A1842). THe new one is I think a 3rd gen or 4th gen 4k.
@jehsom - this may very well be the culprit! I have 6 Apple TVs across 2 homes and all are mirrored / have this issue. It would suck to have to turn off mirroring just to stay logged into spotify, so hopefully this is something Spotify's engineers can work on testing / solving. Can anyone without mirroring turned on chime in if they experience the same issue?
Naw, I only have one Apple TV in my home, and only ever have had one, and still have this issue.

We received some news from our tech team. So, in this case, please try closing the app in your Apple TVs and restarting them. Give it a try and let us know if you notice any difference.

I keep having this issue as well and it’s really starting to **bleep** me off.
This issue has been going on for 3 years, hundreds of posts and you’re still saying to restart the app? I’ve had around a dozen issues with Spotify over the years , software specific and this is quite literally always the response. Never had an issue solved either. What you guys should do is actually buy an Apple TV and beta test Spotify on it because it’s not unique. All 4 of my Apple TVs experience this. It doesn’t suddenly happen out of nowhere. It happens 100% of the time. There’s hundreds of posts on your own forums about it , dozens of Reddit threads about it. It’s not a bug it’s just the way it’s been designed. So maybe it’s time to actually test the software. Pull up the data you have. Look at how many installs you have on Apple TV look at usage of it and you will 100% see Apple TV has weirdly low usage compared to other platforms. Why? Because it logs people out and they get sick of logging in again. I go to use it all the time and just give up.

The same thing happens to my Spotify account on my Apple tv. It hasn't always been a problem for me except for the past year. I am running tvOS16.1 (it is fully up to date) and Spotify version 2022.11.09_2-818ef82. I have not tried resetting the entire apple tv, but I refuse to simply because of the hassle of having to sign back into every single app.

Here's another one! I've had this issue for several years, over multiple tvOS versions and even different Apple TV hardware. As everyone else in this thread says: the Spotify app keeps logging us out, while all the other apps, by some sort of dark sorcery I guess, manages to keep us logged in over multiple years.
Since problem seems so common that I start to wonder if any of the developers at Spotify use their own product? Or do you guys all use Apple Music or something?

Hi everyone, I just read through all 5 pages of this thread and want to comment on what’s going on here. Bottom line - this problem simply isn’t important enough for Spotify to give a damn about, so it must be somewhere near the bottom of their todo list. The incredibly unhelpful L1 support people (mods) suggesting restarting the app, factory resetting the tv, etc. are probably non-technical, temporary contractors whose job is to give you cookie-cutter solutions to try before they escalate to their tech team. And since their tech team is apparently busy working on something else (don’t know what that would be because Spotify keeps getting worse), the mods keep giving you the same useless pointers over and over. I’m sure they are hating it too.
I’ve personally deleted the Spotify app from my Apple TV and rated it one star on the App Store. If you really want to get Spotify’s attention, you may want to (1) do the same, and (2) tweet about this problem. If you tweet about it rather than commenting on this thread, it will get much more visibility.

Agreeing with everyone here. I dunno if it’s your security team that won’t greenlight a longer session but this is unacceptable: I hate using Spotify on my AppleTV. Longtime subscriber here, please fix.

Same issue here. I also have 2 Apple TV’s and they’re mirrored like other folks here. Asks me to log in every time. Longtime customer, I’ve had Spotify since 2011. Please fix!
