My Question or Issue
Hi, I just noticed that the monthly listeners count is no longer showing on artist pages on Spotify. For example, the number used to appear under their name, but now it's gone.
Is this a bug or a new design change?
Would appreciate any clarification or if others are seeing the same issue. Thanks!
I'm having the same issue. iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 18.5.
Please, please, please bring back monthly listens. Such a stupid, pointless decision to remove the numbers, on par with that equally stupid, pointless decision to listen to Adele and remove the randomise option on albums. Stop removing stuff, please. Why don’t you try ADDING stuff instead?
Literally scroll down to the bottom. Spotify moved it
Im having the same issue - is this a feature or a bug?
Same here, the monthly listeners are now not at the start of the page next to the name of the artist but all the way down, to the description. I think this is an awfull switch given the fact that this feature is a symbol of the spotify and very liked by all. I m an artist too and I think this is just a wrong decision and I would like it to reappear back up. Please like this post to appear to the Spotify table for discussion
You should read all the replies in this thread. It's a bug only affecting the app in iPhones, and Spotify is looking into it. I checked my coworkers android phones, and the monthly listeners are still visible on their phone.
Hey everyone
so I had this issue where I couldn’t see the monthly listeners and it JUST got fixed (I’m using an iPhone 15)
I am seeing online Artists joyfully posting that Spotify is removing monthly listenerships
This would be disastrous to playlist curators and users who value discovering hidden gems over songs from artists with huge monthly listenerships
Some lesser known artists are presuming that their music doesn't get streams because listeners only want music from established artists. I am sure that some might but it's more likely that they're listening to established artists because they don't know how to find emerging artists. The real reason why some smaller artists aren't getting streamed is because their music isn't good enough.
I will always maintain that when we discover a new artist with awesome music, we feel like we have won a major prize. I personally discovered Dua Lipa with she had less than 100K monthly listeners. At the time people I shared her music with said she's amazing. Now she's approaching 70M monthly listeners and I still follow her.
So Spotify, please don't take monthly listenerships away from us. Hidden gems with great new music are the biggest prize ever
The idea that we should judge music as art is a cop-out. We shouldn't have to search for something to like about a song. A great song catches your attention quickly. If it doesn't it's tune-out material (skip). This applies equally to established artists and emerging ones.
Hey folks,
Thanks for the patience!
This should be fixed as some of you already confirmed, but in case you're still experiencing the same, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app to ensure you're running the latest version and to remove any damaged cache that might be causing issues.
