Automatically logged in Spotify after a factory restore (iOS) ?

Hello there!

I restored my iPhone 8 to factory defaults and set it up as a brand new iPhone. Then I updated to the iOS 12 Public Beta 3.

I proceeded with downloading all of the apps that I use, including Spotify.

Here's the weird part - when I opened up Spotify for the first time, I was already logged in to my account. How is that possible?

I downloaded 30 apps and Spotify was the only one that had me logged in without me entering my credentials.

Can anyone explain this to me?
Thanks in advance!

Hey @user-removed, welcome to the Community.

Hope you are doing great!

Which way did you use to factory reset your iPhone?

As an iPhone user that never happened to me. Maybe you had your credentials saved in iCloud Keychain and it automatically signed you in like it does with other apps for me, it's really a great feature that helps me set up my phone when doing a factory reset 🙂

Even after just a simple reinstallation of Spotify you are logged out and the credentials won't be saved on your device.

Hope it helps!

So this happened to me too. But instead of my own profile it’s logged into the profile of the previous owner of the phone.

I factory reset, which means all data wiped, as I understand it. Very strange...
