Hey there folks,
Thank you for your replies in this thread.
Does the issue occur with a different account on your device? In order to test this, if a family member has a Spotify account, it could be a good idea to ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way.
If you can't do the above mentioned, would you mind creating a free account for testing purposes and try to add song to a playlist to see if you'll experience the same? This will help us understand if it's account related or not.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Just tried logging out of Spotify and logging back in. This has solved the problem for me.
Its really hard to fix on an phone or tablet compared to computers...
things you can try are, try logging out and it,
restart you device,
and delete your application, restart your device then redownload it.
let me know if it helps!
Hey @Evelyn-S,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
Did it start after any specific event? Can you add this same song to a playlist when using a computer?
Anyway, my first suggestion is that you double check if there are any updates available: having Spotify and iOS both on the latest versions leads to the best experience. A clean reinstall of the app would also be great for you to try, as it could do the trick if this issue is just a small hiccup.
The playlist you're mentioning, is it a public one? Or private/collaborative? Regarding the song, mind also sharing the exact link associated with it (as you're listening to it and trying to add it to the playlist)? I'll test how/if I can add the song to a playlist.
Let me know how you get on. Cheers!
I am having this problem as of today. All was working fine last Friday 10/7. Selecting Add to Playlist shows my playlists but then immediately clears and I am unable to select any.
iPad is up to date. App is too. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app but still not able to add to playlist.
App is working fine on my Android. I can add to playlist with no issue.
I am also having this problem. iPad is up to date. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted the ipad, log out and log in but still not able to add to playlist.
Hey @Jsnrch003 and @fc7,
Can you please let me know what's yours device's models, OS version and Spotify version?
Also, adding screenshots or a video recording of how things look on your end would be quite helpful.
Hi. Thanks for responding.
Spotify 8.7.68.568
iPad (8th gen) model MYL92LL/A
iPadOS 15.7
When I select Add to playlist, the modal initially comes up with my playlists like normal but then immediately drops back down and I’m not able to select one. Other song options work fine. Adding to playlist works fine on Android as well.
Hey @Jsnrch003 and @fc7,
The issue has already been reported and a fix is coming soon.
Make sure to keep your apps updated!
I am having the same problem on my Ipad, but it works on my Android phone.
Every time I try to add a song to any playlist the menu appears briefly but then disappears before I can press anything

i tried to reinstall but nothing…
Cannot add songs to playlist. When attempted, my playlists flash upward, where I would normally then select which particular one I want the song added to, then immediately retract downward before there's a chance to even read/see them (about half a second for the up and down action). And man, it's a slog to get through the help section. Wish there was a link/option to do this straight from the app itself instead of having to open a browser and wade through pages and pages of, well, not help.
I am also facing same issue if someone is having solution so reply .
Thank you .
Hey @JimboJones32,
Thanks for getting in touch about this.
Could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried? That way we can avoid repeating any steps.
Also, we'd like to know the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device.
On another note, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about the Help board and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.
We'll be on the lookout.
The same problem is happening to me as well. I have the iPad 7 gen. I tried everything but the problem is still happening.
Using an iPad Pro, latest iOS, latest Spotify and having issues with my playlists. Problem is that whenever I want to add a song to one of my playlists, the playlists will pop up however the pop up will not stay on the screen in order for me to add to a list…as quickly as it pops up it goes back down again. Very frustrating.
This is not happening on my iPhone
