Can't share with other Spotify users?

I can't share any songs to other Spotify users via the iOS app (and Android app for that matter). It's frustrating because now I have to email songs to other people. Why did this feature get turned off or taken out? I can select "Spotify People" just fine when sharing but whenever I try to type in their name it doesn't find anything at all. Fix this already! Why are the apps lacking such basic functionality?

Unfortunately, its not currently possible to share with non-Facebook friends in the mobile apps (although it did used to be possible). Apparently it is down to how the new follow system is being added to the mobile apps, but unfortunately we don't have anymore information if/when this feature will return.

I would also like to see this feature restored!! Sharing with other users is part of the fun of Spotify, and we shouldn't have to go through Facebook to do it.

Credit where it's due: Sharing with other users works perfectly on desktop. Just wish it worked for iOS as well!

I agree.  Spotify is a "social sharing" app.  In my opinion if we cannot share directly with other "non-facebook" users from the app I will consider other options.  Please correct this Spotify!

Yes, as a Spotify premium user who doesn't have a Facebook account, I would like to see this fixed. We shouldn't be forced to have a Facebook account to share songs. Please address this problem!

FYI Facebook has a 13 years age limit meaning not all my family members and their friends have Facebook accounts as they are under age. Sharing music is part of the Spotify experience, please adress and fix this issue.

Yes this feature needs to be enabled for non-FB users. It's ridiculous that it still doesn't work. I dont see how this could be so difficult for them.

Boy am I glad to have found this post.  Well, it's bitter sweet.  I thought I was going crazy being unable to share music with members of my family plan who are non-Facebook users.  It's good to know I'm not the only one.  But it's sad to know that it's not possible.  How ridiculous!  Spotify, do you have an arrangement with facebook or something?  Jeez.  How lame.  Fix this please.  I've been a loyal member for years.  Maybe I'll swtich to iTunes music.

The feature was removed from the desktop version too!!!!!! I find this UNACCEPTABLE... Spotify I love you...  but YOU SUCK.
