Can't skip ads in podcasts using my car controls, but able to skip regular podcast audio

My Question or Issue

I am able to press the skip button in my car steering to skip regular audio, but the moment an ad comes on, I am unable to skip past the ad. I have to listen through the entire ad before skipping becomes an option again.

I understand that if the ads are embedded Spotify premium can't filter those out, but at least allow me to skip forward using the skip button.

How are the ads able to disable skipping when they are on (but not otherwise) ?

Just noticed this today as well, this is not what we signed up for as premium members.

This is unacceptable!!! I'm PAYING for premium so I won't have to listen to ads. I hate ads. Forcing ads like this is just annoying as **bleep**. I'm going to demand a refund and leave spotify if this isn't fixed. There are plenty of other players (and they're for FREE!!!).
Such a nasty way to force ads. disgusting.
