Cannot cast from iPhone to Chromecast 2

I cannot cast Spotify from iPhone 7 to Chromecast 2. When I select Google Cast in the Spotify app, my TV screen turns all black (no Spotify logo or anything) with no music playing. The app on my iPhone keeps saying it is ‘Connecting….’

I’m able to cast to Chromecast 1 at my friend’s house just fine. I'm also able to cast YouTube, Plex, Chrome etc. at home.

Hi @BalintPinter, welcome to the Community!

In this case, check that you have the latest firmware available for your Chromecast device. Also, make sure that your iPhone and Chromecast are connected to the same WiFi network.

Does restarting your router help you with this?

The firmware is the latest available and I only have the one 5GHz WiFi network.

I'll try and restart the router next week and let you know.
