Could you confirm that you have Data Saver turned off in the app's Settings? It's worth logging out then signing back in twice in a row as this triggers an internal refresh.
If possible, try logging in to another mobile device to see if the option would be available there.

Data saver is off. Logging in and out twice did not work. However, when I log in with another account the canvas setting appears, but when I switch back to my account it disappears. Strange.

The Canvas feature is still in testing, so it might become unavailable on your account account, what has most likely happened.
What you can do in this case is consider creating a new account, where Canvas is available and transferring your music library over. You can follow this guide for some useful tips.
We understand that's not an ideal solution and we've passed your report to the right folks at Spotify who are working on making the app better in future releases.

I want to +1 this - the Canvas setting isn't visible on my account on desktop or mobile, and I've tried every means of troubleshooting. Based in the US. Would really like to see this rolled out to all users, and getting an account removed from a holdback group should be easier than having to create a completely new account.

@Jubotinator, keep in mind that, as mentioned above by @Alex, we're always testing features in the app to improve its functionality, which also might explain why you can't see the canvas option.
Nevertheless, we'd like to add that this was reported in this thread, in which we're receiving any feedback on the matter. Despite its current status set as Not right now, we'd suggest you add your vote to it in the thumbs up icon and subscribe to it as well, so you can stay up to date on any news about it.
@ajb265, we'd like to add some insights. Take into account the canvas feature is available just on the mobile app version. Another user had a similar request, so they posted this idea about it. Feel free to add your vote in the thumbs up icon and you can also subscribe to it in the three-dot menu, that way you can stay up-to-date with any relevant news about this.

My Spotify has short video clips that play in the background of my music. My boyfriend did as well and one day the videos just stopped and we’ve never been able to fix it. Is there any way to fix this?
I‘ve got the same problem. iPhone 14 and iOS 16.1 . On my current account canvas are not available, but if I create a brand new account canvas become available. A but strange tbh. Does anyone know when this is gonna be fixed? I liked the canvas but I don’t want to create a new account. Based in Germany btw.

Having the opposite problem. If Canvas is being rolled out selectively, are you rolling out the ability to turn it off without sacrificing audio quality selectively, too? Because I do not want these videos.
The people affected by this (like me) that refuse to create another account and move all their playlists and followers and everything manually, will we ever get canvas in any future updates or are we just grounded for no reason?
This is extremely frustrated that "old accounts" ie long-time/loyal paying subscribers are the ones part of this holdback group for Spotify canvases. This feature starting rolling out in 2019, why are we still being penalized and not able to access this feature?
It seems that everyone that has used Spotify for years have been absolutely done over with this as we don’t get canvas at all even though we used to and are being told to make a new account, it’s not in your region or “just wait” it’s been a few years it’s been out now and it can’t be cause of the region if we’ve had it before and the fact a different account in the same region has canvas! It’s just unfair on us that pay a good amount of money for premium just to get nothing out of it
I know right it is so annoying that im paying for this and I cant get a simple feature and may need to make a whole new account and transfer everything over ( I have like 25 playlist) and have to restart and my stats for something that was a mistake on spotifys end.
So ridiculous that I’ve been paying for Spotify premium for six years and have had the canvas feature before, yet Spotify refuses to give me access to it now. I pay the same as everyone else, but get a worse experience. Insane that their only solution is to make a new account. Spotify should know that this hurts their user retention. The feature has been in testing for four years!!! It’s time to make it permanent.
I'm having the same problem and I'm so frustrated. I tried creating a new account and eventhough it was free, it had canvas. However, I don't wanna change my account because I've had it for so many years and at this point I have so much info on it. I've tried all the things I've read in every thread related to it but nothing has worked and it just bothers me not having canvas.
Same problem. Tried googling it a while ago, no way to fix it. Spotify seems not to care about this at all.
