My Question or Issue

I like the new UI update, but hate that the play button for albums defaults to shuffle play, as seen below. I don't want to shuffle albums, pretty much ever. I would also appreciate the ability to disable it for my playlists where the order of the songs matter.

I believe you have to get an Idea upvoted enough to get official consideration as a feature request.

Hey folks!

Thanks for your replies on this thread.

There's no need to create a new idea, as there's currently this live idea about this matter. For this feature to be considered, an idea needs to reach a certain amount of votes, as @Leefc mentioned.

The link provided by @Jeremy is to show you how the feedback we receive from the ideas on the Ideas board reach out to the right teams at Spotify and how it works overall.

We encourage you to add your +Vote and comments to that idea thread to show your support.

Everyone!   Go place your vote today for this "new idea".     We need your vote to get this on the radar of the Spotify IOS developers.

I find it... rather astonishing that a company providing music as a service doesn't have music specialists that understand that albums are usually designed by the artists and their producers to be played in the correct order - as a musical journey. It's part of the artistry.

Getting people used to shuffle as the default is probably part of a plan to monetize things. Artists paying to have their songs featured higher up a "randomly" shuffled playlist. For complete albums the default surely has to be "play these songs in the order the artists intended and possibly agonized over as part of their creative process". Having anything else as the starting point is just weird.
