My Question or Issue

If I stop Spotify for a bit and then reopen the app, it doesn’t pick back up from the song I left off on. It briefly shows the progress bar from the song that was playing, then that disappears. If I click into the playlist, it indicates that it is playing, but there is no song showing. I have to manually click into something else to start playing anything

Hey @Emilymaaag, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps. These steps are more thorough than the simple reinstall and can solve common issues.

If you're still having trouble, can you let me know the make and model of the device you're experiencing this on?

That did not work unfortunately. I’m on an iPhone SE

Hey @Emilymaaag,

 

Can you let me know if this happens with all songs, or certain ones? Also, can you send me a screenshot / video of what you’re seeing? Make sure to hide sensitive info when posting to the Community.

 

Further, if possible, can you check to see if this happens with:

  • a different network connection
  • another device
  • a new Spotify account just for testing purposes
