Downloading local files on iPhone 7

My Question or Issue

 I have recently changed to an iPhone 7 and all my local files aren’t downloading anymore. i can download fine on my iPad, all songs are downloaded on my MacBook but on the iPhone 7 it keeps saying downloading and nothing downloads.also they are all marked in Grey. I had an Android before and it was working. Please help. (And if I have to do crazy things like new playlists just for local files I am just gonna stop using Spotify this shouldn’t be so hard. I updated to a phone that should perform better, why doesn’t it  work just as well as on my old ipad!! ) Thanks in advance.
