Downloads not deleted after removing downloads

Downloads not deleted after removing downloads

Spotify on iOS 11 (iPhone SE)

(iOS 10, Android Oreo, Windows 10,etc.)

My Question or Issue

I turn OFF the download switch on an album.

I get the delete downloads dialog box

I select remove

Songs are still downloaded and use up space

FIX THIS! Deleting the App and redownloading everything, just to make some room is ridiculous. You have so frigging much money, how about you spend some of it on software quality.

P.S.:
Spotify desktop is an insult to real desktop applications everywhere.

I have the same issue. I don't download my songs because I don't want them taking space on my phone. I just high-quality stream them. There are some songs that no matter what I do, WILL NOT be un-downloaded. I go to the album, then turn off the download switch, and then go back to home page and the app downloads them automatically again! I've even tried deleting the album COMPLETELY and STILL it gets redownloaded.

Is there possibly another playlist/album that is downloaded that might be causing issues?
Also, sometimes it takes some time to delete from your phone's storage.

Nope, no other album or playlist has those songs in it. The only reason the
album was saved is because the individual songs from each album were liked.
I basically pick and choose which songs from an album I want to save.
Sometimes I end up liking individually all the songs in an album. This was
the case with one album, and the other 3 albums that won't go away were
just singles from different artists. These singles always have their own
album associated with them.

So I also tried unliking each individual song within the albums in addition
to removing the album entirely. I've tried so many variations of trying to
remove songs and downloads but they still pop up. This has been going on
for months.
