Exits playlist after one song and starts playing queue

My Question or Issue

Ever since downloading the latest spotify update (8.5.53.996), I am only able to play one song in a playlist before spotify "exits" the playlist and starts playing songs from my queue instead.

This happens regardless of whether it's a self created playlist or a spotify one. It's incredibly frustrating and has rendered the app almost unusable. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks
