Following Spotify Users on Facebook

Hi there,

I have just installed the Spotify App on my iPhone, however I can't seem to find any of my friends who use Spotify with their Facebook?  My Friend has a playlist he wants me to follow, but when I do a search for his profile on my iPhone, I can't find him?

Is my only option to use spotify with Facebook, therefore no need for the iphone app?

Can you see your friends if you go to your profile in the app, then press the follow icon in the top right corner > Find friends from Facebook?
