My Question or Issue
I can hide songs from play lists, but they are still played. What’s the use of that?
Hey folks,
Thanks posting here in the Community! We'll gladly shed some light on the situation.
Keep in mind that the way the Hide Song feature works at the moment is, that you can enable it for any song in a playlist made by Spotify or someone else. This means that the song will still appear in your own playlists or others that contain it. Songs can be hidden by going to the context menu (the three dots) and selecting "Hide song".
If you'd like to change, how this feature works, we suggest that you post an idea about it. The Idea Exchange is a great way for us to see what our users are interested in and how many people like a certain idea. You can read more about it here.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted if you have any questions.
Hi folks,
Just adding an extra note here.
Currently, if you hide a song on your mobile device, the song will automatically be made available for streaming if you log in through the desktop app, regardless of the playlist you are in. If you log in on mobile after that, those songs should still be hidden and unplayable. If you'd like this to be changed in the future, follow the instructions from @Mihail and create an Idea in the relevant board.
Hope you find this info useful.
Hey @Harrykidis,
Thank you for your post. You should be able to hide a song from your Android device.
Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app to make sure there's no old cache files causing this?
It would also be great if you can let us know which version of the app you have?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Cheers!
