How do I delete the synced offline files from my iPhone?

Hey people! I just unchecked "offline" for all my playlists on my iPhone to free up some memory. However the usage of the Spotify-App is still shown with 1GB. Is there any way to get rid of the cached songs besides reinstalling the app? Regards, Marius

Also workaround is to use the iTunes rent trick. But only usable if you run out of disk space on your phone:

This works a treat on my iPhone 4S. Thanks.

I deleted Spotify from my iPad, hard shut iPad down reinstalled Spotify all my saved music is still there.

Delete the app and wait it takes time to delete it, I had to do 19gb, took 5 mins if that I just kept refreshing storage and it was slowly creeping back up.

reimstall it and Dload again...bit poor I know Spotify should create a delete music button

The Spotify dev's doesnt know how! Their doing their best with their very limited knowledge, experience and education. Be kind, remember, their just kids!

Sooner or later, someone with the required skills and education will join Spotify, kick the kid of a wanna-be-ceo in the nutsack and solve the issues as it should have been since day one.

There is a simpler way to do this. but still I would consider a workaround.

  1. goto your offline devices in your account: [note this link is for Canada as my account is Canadian] https://www.spotify.com/ca-en/account/offline-devices/
  2. remove the device you wish to remove the offline data from
  3. reopen your app on the device
  4. it will ask to restart and remove the offline content.

Any solution yet? Please, Spotify! 🙂
This thread is 4 years old. Or if clearing the cache is technically impossible, can someone from Spotify confirm that here?
Thanks.

This doesn't work.

I still use Battery Doctor on iOS, and it works great every time. You just have to run it multiple times until it tells you there no more junk files. I have the older version, so the "Junk" (i.e. Cache) clearing option isn't hidden. To unlock this feature on the newer version is pretty simple, though.

Here's a video showing you how:

Here's the direct link to the AppStore:

Battery Doctor app won't solve this problem.

Why not? I lets me clear my cache just fine. I can pick up 3 to 4 GBs some times if I haven't ran it in awhile.

It just doesn't do it. 😞

An app on iOS (like Battery Doctor) can't clean the cache of another app (like Spotify). This is how iOS is designed.

It works for me just fine. Just sayin. To each their own, though. Just trying to help.

Please send /post a screenshot to prove.

I'll try to get something up today or tomorrow. Being it's Easter, I won't really have much time today.

In the interim, why not just download the app and follow the instructions on how to unlock the cache clearing feature. The app is free, so it's not like it's anything out of pocket for you.

Thanks. Where exactly is "clear the cache" option in the "Battery Doctor" app?

I tried a number of "cache cleaner" apps, including "Magic Cleaner", I could not find the the Clean Cache option or how to unlock it in Battery Doctor. Nothing helps. Spotify's storage use did not decease. Many cleaner apps referenced on cleaning instruction pages are retired from the AppStore. I suspect that this is because they were bogus and were removed by Apple.

Regarding Battery Doctor:

Summary: this app does not clean caches or do much at all.

Believe what you want about the app, but I've definitely cleaned up my cache with it. I tried taking some screen shots for you a little while ago, but I didn't have anything to clean since I'd recently ran Battery Doctor. However, whenever I've ran Spotify for awhile, I'll always pick up a ton of wasted space. I've confirmed this for myself by simply going into my phone's settings/general/about, and looking at the available space. Then I'd clean my cache with Battery Doctor until it said there's no more junk files to clean. Each time I'd run it I'd pick up more and more space, and I could confirm the freed up space from going back into settings/general/about. If that is not proof enough that it actually works, I don't know what is. Again, I'm only trying to help. This definitely works for me, so I've just tried to spread the word. 🙂
