Huge battery drain and phone heating iPhone 8

My Question or Issue

 Spotify drains the battery and makes my phone heat abnormally. It doesn't matter whether it's working in background or in foreground.

Hope you are doing great!

Many users are complaining about that and Spotify is working to fix it.

I am using it on iOS 12 and no issues or whatsoever.

In the meantime, please try to disable Background App Refresh for Spotify. 

Try to use Wifi over Mobile Data when using Spotify.
I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here.

I've done all the steps you suggested, however the battery drain is still enormous. Waiting for the fix from Spotify. Yesterday the Spotify reached 62% of battery usage!

After reinstalling the app and restarting iPhone it uses a bit less, but still way too much.
