I can only play music on shuffle mode on my iphone

From what I've read, free users can't choose which song to play on their playlists but then, why can I do that on my samsung tablet? I mean, it works perfectly fine on my tablet and I can choose which song I want to listen to. Why doesn't that happen on my iphone?

Tablets have the same limitations as desktop computers, however phones have the additional limitations you've discovered 🙂
