I just bought an iPhone X s and after downloading Spotify all my local files will not play..

However, all the songs are still appearing in my liked songs and my playlists and are not shaded colour so it shows the transferred ok, they just no longer play. I really want these playing. Please help.

Also, I can press play on the song from my iPhone X s, and it will play through my laptop, however, if i switch playback device back to my iPhone it again won’t play. I think therefore it’s define an issue with connection and playback on iPhone as songs are still there in liked list, not shaded out, and playing from my phone to laptop

Did you sync those local files to your new device first? If not then start by doing that.
