I’m definitely getting ads during music playlist. I generally sleep to music and just got woken up by stupid ads.

I started getting ads while listening to regular playlists and I too am a premium account. It’s the whole reason I pay for the service. If I’m going to get ads I might as well stop paying for it.

Me too, I tried everything mentioned on help and in the replies here and there’s no way I’ve found to talk to anyone. Definitely not a podcast ad by the way, as you can see in the screenshot, it’s a mid listen ad track 😞

I am getting adverts whilst listening to music. These are adverts from Spotify advertising the premium subscription. I am a premium subscriper. This is happening on the web player

I pay for premium services and have now been hearing ads. I have NOT recently joined premium. Is anyone else having these issues? Are they going to refund or credit us for the difference since this has not been resolved?

I have a premium subscription, but inside one week I have started having pop up advertisements while listening podcasts on Spotify. The ads are not part of the podcast, but a separate pop up ads. I'm paying for a premium to avoid ads, so I'm expecting not to have to listen to them. I have contacted the Spotify help, but the reply is that some podcasters display ads. These are not embedded ads but pop ups functioning in the Spotify platform. Please fix this issue.

Since today, I all of the sudden got multiple ads (external ones, with individual tracks, not the ads of the podcasters themselves) on all of my devices (PC, Android Phone), even though I have premium. I logged out and in multiple times in the desktop app, which seems to have solved the issue. On the mobile i reinstalled the app, but the problem with the ads persists.

My Question or Issue

I'm hearing that Spotify will soon be playing ads for Premium subscribers unless they buy up (yet again) to another tier.  Creating this post in hopes you share it with decision makers in your organization.  I've been a Premium user for 10+ years and if you insert ads for Premium users unless the buy up, I will immediate cancel my subscription.  I love Spotify and listen all day but this is out of control and really comes off as a cash grab.  I will not hesitate to cancel and never return if you move forward with this plan.

This is dumb, they’re functionally the same thing. Spotify is being disingenuous by offering an ad-free version but then slipping into the fine print that podcasts aren’t included. Don’t offer podcasts on your platform then — or offer a different subscription tier or track to cover this obvious scheme of a greedy money grab.

My podcast was just interrupted by an add for **bleep** Cancer UK. It's fine if the ads are only for charities BUT I pay for premium and their shouldn't be any ads at all.

So are you telling me that after years of no ads on podcast by being premium now i have to accept it to hear the same content i can get ads free in other platforms like YT where i could get a premium subscription and drop the unnecessary one in Spotify cause you want to encourage content creators? good bye 👋

I'm a premium subscriber and just started getting ads during playlists. I understand the podcast thing with ads and have no issue, but if I pay for the premium any radio channels or playlists should not include ads. How can this be remedied?

It is misleading to charge users for a premium membership on the basis that the content hosted on the platform will be ad free and then simultaneously provide podcasts with the option to include ads within their content. This lacks integrity, even with the restrospective approach that Spotify now takes towards being more transparent. What in effect are premium users paying a premium price for if they are still subjected to ads on the platform?
