IOS, Offline mode and Nike App

I'm a premium subscriber and I use spotify offline mode when I go out for a run.  I use the Nike running app and everything was working fine, until about a month ago.  I'm running and the music would just stop.  I have to stop my run, open spotify, and click play or next song for the player to start playing again.  Than after a few more songs it would stop playing again.  This is very annoying since I have a race coming up and I would like to use my playlist for a 1/2 marathon.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you upgraded to iOS 8 - there seem to be a big number of issues currently.

Yes, I've got the iPhone 6 and iOS 8.  However, it started to happen before I updated iOS8.  I'm hoping this is fixed soon.
