Ios 18/iphone 13 issues

Ios 18/iphone 13 issues

ios 18 (currently 18.5) on iphone 13. Not jailbroken/phone is as when purchased brand new.

please note - done 3 or 4 clean installs (restarting) and have already had my account transferred twice.

I also use an email/password to log in and also trimmed down my saved playlists.

so i have an issue where spotify crashes and restarts after playing a song for a few seconds. I am connected to bluetooth as use raycon earbuds. I tried clean installs, restarting and logging out and back into spotify but the issue persists.

is it a corrupted saved playlist? Trying to load recents via main page crashes it when i get to the older playlists.

the playback is usually fine (free app not premium) when it wants to work. If it is a corrupted playlist, how do i identify it? The app also refreshes when using safari/fb as well and settings (have selected yes and no to background refresh but with no improvement) do not help the app works fine for a fee days after transfer but then plays up again and i have no idea what is causing the crash.

it also overheats after 5-10 mins to the point where the app gets very laggy but this seems to be a common issue. I also close all apps bar spotify when in use.

Hey there @Jayuk86,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome!

We understand there's quite some troubleshooting you've tried so far. Because of what you kindly mentioned, and due to the fact that your library has been transferred twice, this is most likely related to the content you've saved.

Such behavior might be caused by large libraries. If you've saved a high number of playlists/songs per playlist in your library, you should consider that the app's performance might be affected.

Remember, there’s a 10,000 song limit per playlist; if you go over that, we cannot guarantee the app will work properly. If this is your case, we’d recommend splitting up bigger playlists into smaller ones, or maybe deleting any playlists you don’t listen to anymore.

We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.
