Iphone, dock and Airport Express

Hi.

If i plug my iphone into a speaker dock can i play Spotify through both my dock speakers and airport express connected to my hifi together?

I don't think so. iOS annoyingly seems to be able to route to one audio destination at a time. Which I didn't realise when I forked out £450 for a new iPad. How very frustrating. It seems to me that there are more things than there should be with a built in FAIL factor.
