Local Files showing but not playing

Local Files showing but not playing

I downloaded local files from my macbook to my iphone, however some of the files won't play. The playlist I added the local files to is downloaded on both and the little green arrows show up next to all the songs. All songs appear on the playlist, however when I click on some of them, it i'll pop up real quick on the bottom and then disappear. The same songs play fine on the spotify app on my computer. I have tried all the basic troubleshooting options (reinstalling the app, redownloading the playlist, devices on same network and all software/apps are up to date) How do I fix this?

Hey there @21ur4vdpgtjhsec!

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community!

Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread. Could you let us know if you’re still having troubles with this?

If you are, can you go to Settings on your mobile app > Local Files and switch on Enable sync from desktop. You need to allow Spotify to find devices in the prompt that shows and that should allow the files to sync.

Keep us in the loop here.

Hi I figured out the problem. I looked at the file information under “get
info” on iTunes and all the songs having issues playing on Spotify said
“encoded with: Unknown.” Unfortunately there was no way to fix it that I
understood, so I just had to redownload the songs.
