Local files cant play on my iphone

My Question or Issue

Ive imported my local files onto my laptop, added them to a playlist and am able to listen to the songs on my laptop. However, when i use my iphone to try and listen to the same playlist, it just skips through all the songs. Ive synced both devices and downloaded the playlist on both devices. Ive checked many forum posts and tried multiple solutions but none has worked.

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out to us!

Could you let us know the version of the Spotify app on your phone? You can check it in the app, under Settings > About.

Make sure also that Local audio files is turned on. You can do that by going to Settings  > Local Files and switching on Local audio files.

If you're still unable to play your local files, try clearing the app's cache:

1. Open the Spotify app and tap Home > Settings.
2. Tap Storage > Clear Cache.
