My Question or Issue
I have a playlist that includes songs not available on Spotify, so I sync the local files from my desktop to my phone. This worked fine until a few days ago my local files on my phone became unplayable (greyed out). The song is downloaded to the phone (the green arrow shows, see the song called "5334" in the attached screenshot for an example), but I cannot press on it, and opening the menu on it does not show the play option. How can I play my local files again?

I’m having a similar problem, except my local files are downloaded straight onto my iphone. The local files show up in the local files playlist and can also be played from the local files playlist ONLY, but if I add it to a playlist it becomes unplayable from there. I have attempted some of the other troubleshooting but I didn’t use a desktop so not sure. Thanks!

I have a tendency to add many songs from smaller artists or songs I download from the internet to many of my playlists using local files on my pc.
A while back I noticed that my songs were no longer downloaded on my phone even if the playlist had been set to download the whole time, so I went to sync them again. the phone then tells me it is downloading the songs and tells me it is downloaded but the song still remain as not playable. I have tried to redo the download and it does make them playable... for like five minutes before being unplayable again.
I am currently having the same issue. I don’t think it’s an issue with the properties of the mp3 files themselves, but I do notice some songs sort of “replicate” themselves in my phone’s local files except the spaces between letters and words are removed. I am not sure what is causing this either but if I’m not the only one experiencing it, this might be an error on the Spotify software itself (which already has a dumb method of importing local files).
For me this worked for years up until few weeks ago. Now the music plays on my phone only when my Spotify on my PC is turned on. The files are downloaded and they work when i try to open them in another player on my phone where the music is located. I have tried all of the options here and nothing works for me. But i figured something else up, the music plays from my "Local Files" folder but not from playlists.
