My Question or Issue

Apparently everyone in the world got the lyrics with the update. Expect me. How do I fix this ? Or rather how will YOU fix this ?! Emptied the cache about 25 times and deleted/redownloaded the app and rebooted my phone that many times. Pretty sure the problem here is Spotify. Not even on my PC does your "update" shows up, and yet my roommate has the lyrics feature working just fine. What is this ? Seems like there's always problems with Spotify.

Edit : I meant except me. But also expect me. I'm not happy about this.

Hello everyone.

We've again tried to merge all related topics into this one, so that we can keep the information centralized as we have some updates and hope to reach as many of you as possible.

We know it took some time, but the rollout of the lyrics feature should now be fully completed.

However, we are aware that there are some issues with individual accounts that still don't see lyrics, especially on mobile devices. The right folks have been working on a solution, but it will require some account modifications.

If you are still not seeing lyrics on your device (on no tracks at all and have never done so in the past), please reach out to our support team. Have your login email and device info at the ready and the team should be able to get this resolved in a couple of working days after they record your case.

We hope this will help everyone enjoy lyrics to the fullest. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing this. Even though it may not work for everyone, maybe it will give a Spotify employee lurking here a clue that leads to a fix for everyone.

Same here. Didn't even know that the lyrics had been introduced until today. It's insane that there's still no news on the subject. It seems true, as all43 wrote, that it concerns accounts that changed their registration in the past as I did change my country 2 times.

Well I'm clueless then. Lyrics work just fine in the desktop version and web player but not in the IOS app.

Lyrics still aren't showing for me. I tried creating two new accounts. The first account didn't show lyrics, but the second new account did, so I logged out and went back to my main. No lyrics. I then went back to the second new account. No lyrics again. This is infuriating.

I have the same problem and it's a pain literally so upset about it because I love looking at the lyrics of a song I love and getting to sing my heart out lol. I hope this gets fixed seems to be something with certain accounts only.

If Spotify doesn't fix the lyrics bug by the end of December, I will switch to Apple Music. Moving playlists to AM is quite easy.

Switching to Apple Music could be a proper solution. Same price, better streaming quality, better support and the Lyrics feature is working.

Apple music is cheaper than spotify. Not for the individual plan, but for the family plan: spotify family costs 15,99€ a month, apple music 14,99€ a month. Also the audio quality is higher than spotify: apple music has a maximum quality of 24 bit 192khz 9216 kbps (formats: aac/alac/dolby atmos, hi res lossless), spotify only 16 bit 44khz 320kbps (formats aac/ogg vorbis, lossy) even if you don't feel the difference that much.

A bad thing of apple music is the absence of customized playlists for you, such as spotify's "On Repeat" playlist. Then apple music has an equalizer which is not very customizable, you can only choose the presets. It also doesn't have crossfade, but if you want to switch to apple music for lyrics it's very convenient, also has a better graphics for me. 🙂

My Question or Issue

Lyrics aren't showing up on my phone despite them showing up in other phones running the same OS. I reinstalled the app and restarted the phone, logged out of my account and back in, and nothing. When I made a new account lyrics worked on that one but since it's not my premium account I don't feel like switching to it just because of this.

think that to have lyrics on spotify I had to install a modded version of the app, even if I have premium. The graphics of the lyrics is awful (because it’s not official) but I’m satisfied. This version is also smoother than the latest one.

It’s scandalous.

much better, also scrolling the playlist isn’t laggy compared to the latest one

When the lyrics shows normally on my account I’ll back to the official app

I cannot confirm this. I am registered in Germany from the beginning and never changed any country settings.

This did not sove the problem. Lyrics still don't show on my Iphone 13 when logged in as owner of the family account.

You can install it with altstore. There are many tutorials online that explains how to do that.
