[Mobile] "New Music For You" Popup: How to disable?

[Mobile] "New Music For You" Popup: How to disable?

Hi,

So, having been a Premium user for many years now, today was quite dissatisfying: There was a deliberate ad on my screen when I opened the app from iOS, a promotion of some new album from some whatever artist.

All my notification settings are turned to off. I wish to receive no interference at all, yet I do not seem to be able to disable these horrible advertisements which I most certainly did not pay for. My respect of Spotify is declining and a wish to switch to Apple Music is closer.

Does anyone know how to disable these?

You can’t. And for me it is feature and I like it.

I agree that this is frustrating. If I'm paying for a monthly subscription, I don't want to see a pop-up / pop out that basically serves me ads. I'm all about artist promotion, though I just wish we would see it as an icon or a link option once you're signed in and looking at all of your customized features on the U.I.

Oh God, 5 years now? Companies that force paid advertisements down the throats of paid users are the worst shady entities out there. Clearly they don't care about user experience. Just another reason to just torrent your music.

possible solution: avoid using the Spotify app?  use an alternative app to control what Spotify is playing?
