is it a Family Plan? if not it is my Understanding that you can have up to two or three devices logged in to the same Account but when it comes to Streaming it's a different story. when streaming only one device can stream music at a time.
Take a look at Spotify Connect

As a premium user, if you have the Spotify app open on two devices, you are able to use one of those devices to control the other device that is playing the music. (the control feature isn't in the desktop app yet, but will be coming soon)
Matt - you clearly know your stuff ! I am a Premium user and have the app installed on my iPad, iPhone and iPod. I am about to get a new MacAir and wanted to know if I can install it on that too, or is that too many devices ? It sounds as though as long as I am only using one at a time, I can have it installed on all my devices, but if my children are streaming to my iPod and I want to stream to my MacAir, I will need family sharing ? Does that makes sense ?!! Thanks !!
Yes that is correct. You can use Spotify on as many devices as you want. However only 3 devices can have playlists downloaded for offine use. How to listen offline
Each Spotify account can only be streaming on one device at a time.
