Music pausing instantly on iPhone?

Randomly, on my phone, music will just pause, and even if I click play, it'll instantly pause itself again. I have Spotify on both my phone and my laptop, and the transition normally works perfectly but it seems like it's a bug somewhere in that interaction. The only "fix" I've found is to play music on my laptop first, and then switch to my phone. Sometimes it automatically switches to my phone and keeps pausing, but if I switch back to my laptop and then manually switch to my phone it'll work again. Tried clearing cache on both, and both are up to date.

I use my account on my iPhone, Sonos and Car. When I play music the song just stops playing. I have disconnected all devices, forced a password change and the problem still exits. I have also logged into another iPhone and still get the same issue.
