Music stops and starts when phone gets service back

I've been having a problem whenever I come up from being underground (on the subway). I'll be listening to a playlist I have syned offline and as soon as I get service back on my phone, the song will start and stop on its own, over and over. I'm assuming it has something to do with my phone losing and then regaining service but I'm playing songs offline so there shouldn't be any interruption. 

The only way to stop this is to close the app and reopen it. Otherwise the song stop and starts uncontrollably and I can't stop it manually. I actually can't do anything in the app until I reopen it.

I've talked to 2 other people experiencing the same issue. One is on an iPhone 6 and the other is on an Android phone.

EDIT: I'm on an iPhone 5s.

Same problem here. iPhone 6 Plus.
