No sound when using Spotify on Apple HomePod

No sound when using Spotify on Apple HomePod

I’ve been using Spotify on my iOS device ( 8 plus - iOS 12.1.2) to stream the sound through my HomePod for a long time now. About two weeks ago Spotify sound just stopped, it shows that it is connected but no audio come out the HomePod. I have isolated it to Spotify as other 3rd party apps work just fine (Amazon Music and YouTube). I’ve repaired the HomePod 3 times and got same result. I’ve removed app from phone and reinstalled to get the same result. Reset network settings and all settings and still did not resolve. Do I have any other options besides restoring phone or waiting for an update?

Is this a known issue with the Spotify app or my iOS?
