Only play song on shuffle play

I am using iPhone 4s and Spotify app is latest version but no songs will play unless I press shuffle play. Click on the songs does literally nothing.

If you are a free user then, as Adam said, you can only listen to music in shuffle mode. This is explained in the FAQ.

I also want to add I deleted the app several times and download it again but its same.

Hey there, it sounds like you're using our free service on iPhone, which has some restrictions compared to Premium. The Spotify account attached to your Community profile was created through Facebook with no history of any subscription.

Have you previously had Premium working okay? Do you know what your username might be?

I know that Free Users can't select songs on the app, but I just upgraded to Premium and nothing changed. So I can't skip songs or click on them. Do you have a solution? I already restarted the app but the problem hasn't disappeared.

@RWJDA - Is your account showing as premium on your online overview?

If it is showing as premium then you should be good to go! Sometimes a quick log out and back in again is needed. If you are still having issues, try a clean reinstallation of the application.

If your account is still showing as free then you have not logged into the account you have upgraded. Double check your details, its amazingly easy to accidentally have two accounts, one with a Spotify username and another using your Facebook details. If you can't find your account, don't subscribe again as you might be billed twice, instead get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to lend a hand.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Alternatively, if you prefer support via Twitter, please tweet @SpotifyCares.

Can I turn off shuffle if there is wifi and I'm using free service?

Nope, Spotify free on a mobile phone will only give you shuffle no matter what type of connection you are on.

Hi I have spotify premuim but it's only letting me play through shuffle. Is there a way to get this fixed as before it would just play down the list as normal.

Can you disable shuffle from the now playing screen? (Tap the playing track at the bottom)

Hi,

Yeah tried that, both the repeat and shuffle symbols are unhighlighted.

I'm having the same problem.

I'm paying for Premium Spotify. The browser (chrome) shows this and I have all the features. My desktop app doesn't have the albums and playlists I created from the web. My iPhone (5s) doesn't show I'm premium and doesn't show the albums or playlists from the web either.

Any ideas? I've logged out and logged back in. I've turned it off and on again. I've uninstaleld and re-installed both the desktop app and the iPhone app (according to this).

Still not working.

I found my fix to the iOS shuffle play issue here.

But the play list and album sync issue on all three platforms is not fixed.

Is it possible that only the web player is logged into the correct account? In the web player, click on the options button then the View Account buttonto go to your account overview. If this shows an active premium subscription, make sure that on the other platforms you are logging in with the username shown under "Profile" unless it is a 10 digit number, in which case you need to log in with facebook.

That was the first thing I checked.

I think something wrong with mine cause I can only shuffle can u help me

Do you have a premium subscription @dirtyteabag ?

I have Spotify on my Apple iPhone 4S and have just bought a £10 gift card to try Spotify Premium before deciding on permanently getting it. However, whilst premium seems to work on my PC, on my phone it still only offers me "Shuffle Play".  I've reinstalled Spotify and given the phone a full restart. Can you help?

OK, my query is resolved - it was a simple misunderstanding.

When you go to the AppStore and look for Spotify the obvious first choice has a picture underneath it saying "Shuffle music on your phone". Similarly when I start the app on my iphone you see a "Shuffle" button, even if you've selected an album to play.

Now as "Shuffle" is the ONLY way to use Spotify Free I thought that when I got Premium I would see a lot less of this "Shuffle" talk...and that maybe the "Shuffle" talk would no longer be present at all.

But no, you still see it.  Perhaps Spotify see "Shuffling" music as THE significant feature of their service for the mosdern (younger) user,  an maybe it's because I'm an older user I tend to select albums - and then I want to hear them in the order the artist intended.

I now realise that even though that "Shuffle" button is still there, if I click on the first track of the album it plays the whole album in order.  So there we are, I was simply mislead by all this "Shuffle" talk.   Problem over!
